DE LUNA, BUSTAMANTE ENTERS ROUND-OF-32
JEFFREY DE LUNA and Joven Bustamante hurdled their respective rivals to advance in the round-of-32 of the 2007 Philippine World Pool Championships last night at the Big Dome.
De Luna upset Lee Vann Corteza, 10-7, while Bustamante shocked another tournament favorite Dennis Orcollo, 10-16, in the round-of-64 knock-out match last night to progress to the next round.
Lee Kung Fang of Taiwan, Ralf Souquet of Germany, Luis Condo of Austria, Niels Feijen of the Netherlands, Luong Chi Dung of Vietnam also advance in the round-of-32.
Lee nipped Raj Hundal of England, 10-6, Souqet beat Naoyuki Oi of Japan, 10-8, Condo smashed Chan KK of Taiwan, 10-2, Feijen outplayed Charlie Williams of the USA, 10-7, and Luong crushed Earl Strickland of the USA, 10-8.
