REYES, DJANGO LEAD RP CHARGE IN PHP 2M MANNY PACQUIAO INT'L 9-BALL OPEN
THE deadly duo of Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante will be joined by Ronato Alcano, Dennis Orcollo, Warren Kiamco and Lee Vann Corteza to lead the Philippine charge in the 1st Manny Pacquiao Cup International 9-Ball Open.
The tournament venue will be the Hobbies of Asia Bldg. along Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City on Oct. 24 to 27, with a total cash prize of Php2 million where the winner takes the top prize of Php1 million and the runner-up gets Php500,000.
This was bared yesterday by RP's no.1 trick shot player and tournament director Julie Falcon Guevarra.
"Nag confirm na maglalaro sina Efren (Reyes) at Django (Bustamante) ng Puyat Sports. Sasali din sina Ronnie (Alcano) at Dennis (Orcollo) ng Bugsy Promotion, maging sina Lee Vann (Corteza) at Warren (Kiamco) ng Negros Billiard Stable. Lahat kasi sila ay mang-gagaling sa US Open, pagkatapos ay diretso dito sa 1st Manny Pacquiao International 9-ball Open, bago sila maglaro sa World Pool Championships" according to tournament director Julie.
Reyes and Bustamante on the other hand, both prize players of RP billiard patron Aristeo "Putch" Puyat are schedule to defend their title when the 2007 PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool gets going on September 25 to September 30 at the Outland nightclub in Rotterdam, Holland.
"Di lang sure si Alex (Pagulayan), 'yung mga ganoon petsa kasi ay parang may commitment s'ya sa abroad. Pero I hope na makalaro siya dito sa Manny Pacquiao International 9-ball Open" added Julie.
Tournament director Julie is expecting more than 100 cue artists to take part in this event which will feature some of the world's best pool players.
"Open sa lahat ito, inaasahan ko na mahigit sa 100 billiard players na mang-gagaling pa sa iba't-ibang panig ng mundo ang sasali. Timing ang date bago mag World pool Championships."
The forthcoming 32nd Annual U.S. Open set on October 14 - October 20, 2007 will be held at the beautiful Chesapeake Conference Center, in Chesapeake Virginia while the World Pool championships will return again in our country on November 3 to 11 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
Solar Sports, the leading Sports channel will air the Manny Pacquiao International 9-ball Open, interestingly, Solar Sports also won the rights to air the mega buck fight of Pacquiao and Barrera on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It is noted that last December, unheralded Benson Palses won the Manny Pacquiao Panersera-Pababa 10-ball tourney at the Rock and Roll billiard hall in Malate, Manila while Roberto Gomez dominated the Manny Pacquiao 10-ball Open in General Santos City last February.
