JEFFREY DE LUNA DEFENDS HARI NG MESA TITLE

JEFFREY "The Bull" De Luna tries to defend his seat as the king of the table for the second time against Marlon Manalo in Pool Showdown match of the week which will rack tomorrow (Saturday) at the Rizal Memorial Billiards Zone.

According to De Luna his advantages are television and international exposure when he trounced Ricky Zerna and Panfilo Damuag Jr for the "hari ng mesa" of the week, but now he will be up against the more experienced Manalo.

"Parehas na ito, pareho kaming naglalaro sa ibang bansa at sanay na makunan ng camera pero nakahanda pa rin ako, sabi ko nga kahit sino makalaban ko mag-eensayo pa rin ako ng mabuti dahil alam kong magagaling ang mga kasali dito sa Pool Showdown." De Luna lamented.

Manalo the 2nd BSCP National Pool Championships 1st runner-up has the right to challenge the power breaks of De Luna after topping the ring game event Monday night over Edgar Acaba, Roberto Gomez, Carlo Biado and Mark Mendoza.

"It will be a tough game, di pwedeng biruin si Jeff (De Luna) magaling na din siya kung sino ang katigan ng suwerte yun ang mananalo," said Manalo who will receive $800.00 by winning the ring game.

The 23-yr old De Luna now has a total earnings of $3,300.00 one for ring game winner, two match of the week champion ($1,000.00 each) and $500.00 as added prize for retaining the hot seat (Hari ng Mesa).

De Luna and Manalo are also seeing action on November 3-11 in the upcoming 2007 Philippines World Pool Championships in Araneta Center.

Pool Showdown is a joint production of Raya Sports and ABC-5. It is broadcast every Tuesday and Saturday at 8:00 to 10-30 in the evening.
