GUINNESS 9-BALL TOUR

GABICA, MANALO, 3 OTHERS SAYS THEY'RE READY FOR GUINNESS 9-BALL TOUR

ANTONIO GABICA and Manalo Manalo along three others proclaimed their readiness to break the Taiwanese Domination when the first leg of 2008 Guinness 9-Ball Tour gets going on February 29 to March 2 at the Taipei Gymasium in Taipei, Taiwan.

"Handa na kami," said the Lapu-Lapu City pride Gabica, the prize figther of newly-formed Philippine Billiards Development Foundation (PBDF), who already booked his seat in the main draw of 2008 World 8-Ball Championships set April 18 to 25 in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates after topping the qualification tournament last Saturday along with Elvis Calasang was held at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City.

"Kailangan manalo agad tayo sa 1st leg para makuha natin ang momentum," added Mandaluyong ace Manalo, who recalled the Taiwanese domination in the last year's edition by winning the all legs including the grand finale which topped by Chang Chung-lin.

Joining them were Jeffrey de Luna, Joven Bustamante and Alex Pagulayan---this year's Guinness Ambassador and Endorser of the Irish stout beer, which is famous in Europe and some part of Asia not in the Philippines.

The five men cue artists are schedule to leave tomorrow, Wednesday aboard Philippine Air Lines and will return to the country on March 3.

Formerly Asian 9-Ball Tour, in the 2006 edition of the tour, the Philippines swept the four legs behind pool maestro Efren "Bata" Reyes, who won twice, and countryman Rodolfo Luat and Ramil Gallego who took a leg each.

Unforunately, Reyes and former world no.1 Francisco "Django" Bustamante, both San Miguel Beer endorsers, failed to compete in the Guinness tour. Guinness is a director competitor of San Miguel Beer.
