CHUA BEATS VALLE WINS WTA 9-BALL TOUR

MANILA, PHILIPPINES---YOUNGSTER JOHANN "Bubwit" Chua of Bacolod City defeated 1998 Asian Games 9-Ball Gold Medallist Gandy "Yang-Yang" Valle of Davao City, 9-4, late Wednesday to rule the second edition of the Winner-Take-all 9-ball tour at the Ever Gotesco Mall in Commonwealth in Quezon City.

En route to the title, the 15-year-old Chua, nipped Elmer Haya in the quarters and Panfilo Damuag in the semis, respectively, to claim the top purse of P60,000 in the two-day event, 28 player's field jointly organized by Lando Vicente, Ish Caparras and Troy Danao

In the first edition of WTA 9-Ball tour last month, veteran campaigner Godofredo "Boy Cotabato" Ducanes took the last three racks to defeat Joemar de Ocampo, 9-8. This event was held at the Bowling Inn on Taft Avenue, Manila.

The registration of 2008 Philippines Junior Pool Championship is now on full swing at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City and Raya Sports Office in Makati City.

The 19-year-old and below event will kick off on March 13 to 16 at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City, at stake are two slots for this year's World Junior of Pool in Los Angeles, California.

Scooter, Appliances, Gift Certificates and other prizes awaits also the said winners in the Billiards Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) organized tournament in close cooperation with Raya Sports, Star Billiards Center and Philippine Billiards Development Foundation (PBDF).
