JOVEN TAMANG DEFENDS HIS TITLE

JOVEN TAMANG WILL DEFEND HIS 9-BALL TITLE IN HOBBIES BILLIARD

AFTER topping the inauguration leg last week, Joven Tamang will defend his title against a dozen aspiring cue artists who want to follow the foot steps of Filipino billiards great Efren "Bata" Reyes, Francisco "Django" Bustamante and Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan when the All Amateur Players Open 9-Ball Tournament resumes with its weekly leg on April 12 at the Hobbies Billiard 8 President Diosdado Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City.

Tamang trounced Baste Padua, 7-4, in the finals to captured the title plus the top prize P5,000 in the double knock-out tournament, organized and sponsored by sports patron Danny Bariso.

According to Mr. Bariso, the 9-ball tournament is open to all amateurs player in the country which aims to discover new billiards talents.

Tournament coordinator RP no.1 trick shot champion Julie "Falcon" Guevarra said that a whopping top purse P20,000 awaits to the Grand Finale winners slated this year.
