TROY DANAO and the rest of the Negros Billiard Stable (NBS) are eyeing the allotted four slots in the Grnad Finale when the third leg goes to Bacolod this weekend (August 18 to 19) at the Celebrity Billiards and Bar which co-owned no less than NBS president Jonathan Sy.
"Talagang pinaghandaan ko itong Bacolod leg, sa abot ng aking makakaya ay makakapasok na din ako sa Grand Finale" said Danao, a native of Bacolod City and fondly called "Guwapito" in the pool world because of his handsome face.
Other members of NBS who will see action this weekend are Roberto "Bert Pasay" Dy, Jomel "Smiling Face" Sultan, Noel "Weng-Weng" Caro and newly installed NBS member Cebuano ace, Warren "Warrior" Kiamco.
"Sana may NBS na naman na makapasok sa Grand Finale" added NBS coach/ manager Christopher Palses.
Ricky "Bai" Zerna, Russian "The Dynamite" Petiza and Panfilo "Abu" Lintok"Damuag of NBS have already advanced to the Grand Finals of this tournament on September 14-16 after garnering a 1-2-3 finish in the first leg at the Paeng's Skybowl in Robinson's Galleria.
Jech-Jech "Lemon" Limen, another NBS bet has made it to the top four in last Sunday’s 2nd leg at the B3 Bowling Billiards and Bar, NCCC Mall in Davao City.
Expected to give the NBS cue artists a good fight are Roberto Gomez and Jharome Pena of Bugsy Promotions, and members of the national women's squad composed of Rubilen Amit, Irish RaƱola and Mary-Ann Basas.
Meanwhile, the fourth leg is schedule on Aug. 25-26 at the Puyat Sports@Baguio Center Mall in Baguio City and the last qualifying leg will be on Sept. 1-2 at the AMF-Puyat Commonwealth Lanes, Ever Gotesco Comonwealth in Quezon City.
